January 19, 2016 -Korea:  Win, Lose, or Draw?

Lt. General Cleveland.

Montgomery’s own Lt Gen Charles “Chick” Cleveland will be the opening speaker for the spring program of the Alabama World Affairs Council.  Gen Cleveland was most recently again honored for his service to the nation with the presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal.  He also serves as the president of the American Fighter Aces, a group of 77 living fighter pilots who have downed at least five enemy aircraft in aerial combat.

Gen Cleveland was the Commander of Air University in Montgomery from 1980-1984 and has been a fixture in the Montgomery community ever since having served in numerous volunteer and charitable organizations.  Indeed, until July of 2015, when he retired after 17 years, Gen Cleveland was the President of the Alabama World Affairs Council.

General Cleveland will speak to the Alabama World Affairs Council on Tuesday, January 19th on the topic “Korea: Win, Lose or Draw?” sharing his views on air power, Korea, and national security as he has experienced them over the years.  We look forward to an insightful evening and question and answer session with Gen Cleveland.

The Alabama World Affairs Council programs are held at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts beginning at 5:30 with a cocktail reception and light supper followed by the program at 6:15 and a question and answer period.  Programs generally end by 7:30.  It is free to AWAC members and $20 for guests.
