The Alabama World Affairs Council will present an eight-week International Security Issues lecture series beginning Sept. 29 at Troy University Montgomery.

The lecture series is designed to cover and discuss a number of security challenges facing the U.S. and provide an opportunity to showcase some of the world-class faculty at Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base. Lectures will be held each Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sept. 29-Nov. 17, in the Rosa Parks Museum Auditorium at Troy University Montgomery.

Troy University Montgomery will serve as host to Council events thanks to a partnership agreement signed on Sept. 7.

“In an election year, this series will examine some of the issues that the new administration will have to face, the seriousness of security challenges facing the United States over the coming years and how these challenges could and should be dealt with,”  said Dr. Grant Hammond, AWAC president. “The purpose of this program is to provide a forum in which members of the community, particularly prior service and retired military, as well as college students and others interested, can have an opportunity to learn and discuss these issues.”
